Old VIP Lounge Demolish For New

Barely 72 hours after the award of contract ceremony, civil works for the construction of an ultra-modern presidential/VVIP lounge at the Banjul International Airport have commenced in earnest.
During a conducted site visit for the media on Monday, the Project Manager, AREZKI, Aymen Masraoui said the swift commencement is a mark of commitment in all stakeholders to complete the contract in a timely fashion.
The ultra-modern lounge, one of the strategic priorities of OICGambia in preparation for the forthcoming OIC Summit will include presidential lounges, press rooms, protocol offices, security offices, parking lots, and roads linking the lounge to the Aircraft Apron.
The Head of Brand and Communication, The Gambia OIC Secretariat, Nfally Fadera said the new lounge will offer guests of the Summit a befitting reception.
“In addition to the befitting reception, having a Presidential lounge will contribute to making sure that the airport can meet international standards and requirements necessary in terms of high-profile visitations and receptions.”
Mr. Fadera said the Secretariat is happy that construction is taking off within a short period of time and is expected to be completed within the stipulated period.
