As preparations for the forthcoming OIC Summit intensifies, the Minister for Information and Communication Infrastructure (MOICI) Ebrima Sillah Tuesday 15th February 2022, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with two crucial unions: the Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) and the Islamic Broadcasting Union (IBU) at the OIC General Secretariat in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The objective of the MoU is to coordinate and collaborate on the management of a media centre for maximum coverage of the 15th Summit to be held in Banjul.
The ceremony was attended by The Gambia OIC Secretariat’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Yankuba Dibba, the Secretary General of the OIC, Mr Hissein Brahim Taha, Dr Amr El-Leithy IBU Director General and Mr Mohammad Abd Rabbo Al-Yami, the Acting Director General of UNA.
The move is seen by both parties as the right step to garnering media attention to the Summit and The Gambia at large.
